Christopher Peter Meloni is an American actor who is well-known for his roles in popular television show 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. At the age of 18, he began to pursue a passion for acting. At the University of Colorado at Boulder where he was studying acting. Though he has been active on both television and films however it is his roles in the smaller screen which gave him popularity and much fan following. He has the ability to portray two characters, one from the perspective of police officers and different. That's what has made him so popular. When he first appeared on television, for his debut show, he was the role of a serial killer. Then, he played the role of an NYPD investigator. He has been nominated multiple times for the prestigious Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his small screen performance. The actor is famous by his blue piercing eyes, which have become the trademark of his character and has helped him portray tough characters with charisma. The actor was featured as one of People's Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
